Charles had a rough past, which led to his unhealthy lifestyle. He was addicted to meth for a decade. The My 600-lb Life star’s addiction also resulted in his mother and grandmother kicking him out. He became homeless for quite some time and was even arrested. Charles eventually went to rehab and began to pursue a healthy lifestyle. However, his past addiction to drugs was replaced by food.
It has reached a point where Charles struggles to make himself food and perform any physical activities. He lives with his siblings, Brad and Cheyana, who both look after him. Fortunately, he found the determination to turn his life around before it was too late.
Charles’ Weight Loss Journey
Charles had a difficult start with Dr. Now. He struggled with following the bariatric surgeon’s orders. But the My 600-lb Life star never gave up and dropped enough weight to qualify for bariatric surgery. However, he faced new problems as he seemingly got too comfortable at home with his brother, who takes care of him. He even ended up declining the surgery, leaving many viewers in doubt.
Before parting ways with Dr. Now, Charles Bridgeman clarified that he would continue to lose weight. He also said that he may consider the surgery in the future, and it seems that he’s still living up to his words today.

Charles has been in touch with the fans on social media. In September 2023, the My 600-lb Life star revealed that he’s now down to 385 pounds. Many of his posts today are about his walk at the park with his dog. In November 2024, Charles Bridgeman uploaded a photo of him looking a lot healthier. He has yet to share if he’s undergone any surgery. But many are glad for the progress he has made.
