Did Summer House stars Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula fake their New Jersey home search? They recently set out to find a home in the suburbs so Amanda could get a break from the city. Yet, was this a genuine search or played up for television? Keep reading for more details.
Did Kyle Cooke & Amanda Fake New Jersey Home Search?
In a recent episode of Summer House, Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula decided to look at homes in New Jersey. For Amanda, it was a chance to get away from the city madness. Unfortunately, Kyle felt this would not work for him and his business. Therefore, Amanda proposed the idea that she would live in the home for a month at a time just to get her space. Thus, fans felt they were doomed and they should just call it quits.
Though they seem like they cannot stand each other, they may have also not been looking in New Jersey for homes. Instagram page @brandsbybravo found the home that Kyle and Amanda had been looking at on Zillow. It was actually in Southampton, New York, and not in New Jersey which is clearly a huge difference. The home is a nearly $30K/month rental with bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

However, once this was posted, Amanda had to post an explanation. She wrote this in the comments:
- We weren’t trying to pretend it was NJ we were very vocal about looking at houses in the Hamptons as an escape from the city and something we could rent out during the summer. But the price tag quickly crushed all my hopes and dreams. Sorry to anyone who felt tricked.
Immediately, fans chimed in and felt that there were homes like that in New Jersey, just as beautiful:
- I’m confused. I live in north Jersey and why wouldn’t there be houses like that here…?
- What a weird lie?? There are surely beautiful houses in North Jersey that they could have looked at.
- so annoying of production, don’t lie to us like that
Did They Lie?
Though Amanda Batula tried to make sense of why it may have sounded like they were in New Jersey, fans saw things differently. They felt that Kyle Cooke implied that he would never want to live in a place like Jersey. One noted this:
- If you look at that scene, they never said they were in New Jersey. Kyle just said “I just never saw myself living in New Jersey” which could be why they are looking at houses elsewhere.
Still, it seems a lot of Summer House viewers were fooled and were happy that the actual house and location were uncovered. Hopefully, they can come to a common ground as to where to live.
