‘Cheetah Girls’ Sabrina Bryan Breaks Silence Amid Nickelodeon Scandal
Cheetah Girls star Sabrina Bryan has broken her silence amid the scandal surrounding Nickelodeon that has been revealed in Quiet On Set: The Dark Side Of Kids TV. Sabrina opened up about her experience as a child actor on her podcast “Magical Rewind.” Keep reading to see what she revealed.
Cheetah Girls Star Says She’s ‘Grateful’ For Protection
Sabrina Bryan spoke to People on Monday, addressing the Quiet On Set docuseries. The Cheetah Girls star said that always felt protected on set and that she was thankful for the people she had around her during her time in the industry as a young person.
“I think we talk a lot about that on the podcast because it’s different,” Sabrina told People, referencing her “Magical Rewind” podcast. “When you are growing up in front of the camera also how you’re around all adults, there’s a lot of things that go into it, some amazing, some not great.”
She continued, “And I was always really grateful because I always had a lot of protection around me.”
In Quiet On Set, many former child actors talked about how they were often discouraged from having their parents present on set at Nickelodeon. Parents were urged to be “hands off.” However, Sabrina Bryan said that is one of the things she is most thankful for.
According to Sabrina, one of her parents was always on set with her. They went out of their way to make sure she stayed away from anything that might be dangerous or harmful to her.
“And I just really got lucky that I had parents that were just always eyes open,” she said. “The industry is amazing, but you have to always be careful and take care of your kids.”
Nickelodeon Has Addressed Allegations In The Series
Quiet On Set: The Dark Side Of Kids TV is a series that takes a look behind the scenes of popular Nickelodeon shows from the 1990s and early 2000s. In the documentary, several child actors come forward with allegations of misconduct and sexual abuse.
The Cheetah Girls star is the latest child actor to speak up about the Quiet On Set docuseries. Last week, Melissa Joan Hart spoke about her experience at Nickelodeon. While she didn’t go through the same things the other child actors did, she said she believes them 100%.
“I don’t know other people’s experiences. I’m not negating anything anyone else says,” she told Meghan McCain. “I’ve never been told these people’s stories that are in the documentary or and I have to say I’ve never heard a story from a Nickelodeon star personally.”
Nickelodeon has released an official statement addressing the allegations in the series, stating that they “cannot corroborate or negate allegations of behaviors from productions decades ago.” However, the network says that it investigates all “formal complaints” and is dedicated to being a “safe and professional workplace.”
