Jill revealed in a podcast that Derick and Jim Bob’s relationship used to be great. “Derick trusted my dad and my dad trusted him,” the Counting On alum said. However, things went sideways between them once they started having differences. Jill also revealed that it came to a point where her husband stood up to protect her and told Jim Bob, “This is not okay, how you’re treating your daughter.”

Things worsened between Jim Bob and Derick throughout the years. During the podcast, Jill revealed that her husband once threatened her dad with a protective order if he continued contacting her directly.

Jim Bob Threatened To Send Derick To Rehab

Some Redditors recently discussed the time when Jim Bob threatened to send Derick to rehab. According to the poster, they’ve been thinking about how Jeremy was easily given a green light to court and marry Jinger while Derick was almost sent to rehab for drinking one beer.

Some Counting On fans said that Derick’s rebellious acts happened when we were already a part of the family, while Jeremy’s controversial past was more of a redemption story, which is something that the Duggar family patriarch may have liked. Meanwhile, others called out Jim Bob Duggar for not sending his oldest son, Josh, to rehab before he was arrested for CSAM.
