Kenan Thompson was a guest on the Tamron Hall Show on Wednesday. During their conversation, Tamron asked the Saturday Night Live star what he thought about the docuseries.

Quiet On The Set gives viewers a disturbing look at what was happening behind the scenes on some of the most popular kid’s TV shows. The series mainly focuses on producer Dan Schnieder’s misconduct during the 90s and early 2000s. Schnieder was the mastermind behind some of Nickelodeon’s most popular shows like All ThatDrake & Josh, iCarly, Sam & Cat, and The Amanda Show.

Viewers have been waiting on responses from several Nickelodeon stars. Amanda Bynes has yet to break her silence on the documentary, which a source says she declined to be involved with.

However, Kenan Thompson addressed the series during his discussion with Tamron Hall. He didn’t have any additional light to shed on the subject, but he said that he’s glad the docuseries was released.

Kenan Thompson Opens Up About The Docuseries

“It’s tough for me because I can’t really speak on things that I’ve never witnessed,” he said. Many of the allegations that are discussed in the series occurred after Kenan’s time with the network.

“Because all these things happened after I left, basically, and Dan wasn’t really on Kenan and Kel like that,” he told Tamron. “I mean, he got a ‘created by’ credit but it was a different showrunner, so our worlds weren’t overly overlapping like that outside of All That necessarily.”

He continued, saying that his heart goes out to anyone victimized on the set of the show and their families. The SNL star then shared his thoughts about the details that were revealed in the documentary.

“I think it’s a good thing that the doc is out and is putting things on display that need to be — stories that need to be told for accountability sake but it’s definitely tough to watch because I have fond memories of that place,” Kenan said. “And I have fond memories of my costars and stuff like that, so, to hear that they’ve gone through terrible things like that, it’s just, it’s really tough.”

Tamron Hall then shared that they reached out to the network about what they were doing about these allegations. Nickelodeon says that they investigate all of the allegations and take them seriously. To which Kenan Thompson said, “Well, investigate more!” He pointed out that the set is supposed to be a safe place for these kids. “How dare you?” he emotionally questioned.

Quiet On The Set is available to stream on Max. You can also tune in to the ID channel this weekend. The network will be airing the series again on Saturday starting at 9 a.m. EST.
