ESPN Wants Jason Kelce For Surprise New Gig
Jason Kelce officially announced his retirement from the NFL on March 4, but, according to the latest reports, that doesn’t mean he’s completely done with football.
Philadelphia Eagles Star Jason Kelce Officially Hung It Up
Jason Kelce officially closed the book on his prestigious NFL career when the 36-year-old announced his retirement on March 4. Jason may be overshadowed these days by his brother Travis Kelce. However, his career in the sport is nothing short of hall of fame-worthy.
Jason Kelce was the heart of the Philadelphia Eagles for 13 years. Travis may have beaten his brother in the Super Bowl, but, Jason got his own ring in 2018, in addition to a number of other career accolades during his time with the franchise.
Kelce Gave His All Out On The Gridiron
Along with his Super Bowl hardware, Jason Kelce has a number of other accolades and awards to his credit during his time out on the field. Over the course of 13 seasons, he went to the Pro Bowl seven times. He was also first-team All-Pro six times.
Jason Kelce secured his place as a future Hall of Famer. He played in 193 games over his 13 years in the league. Based on the latest reports, however, he may have a brand-new gig less than a month after officially retiring from the game of football.
ESPN Wants Jason Kelce For Surprising New Role
Kelce’s professional playing days might be over, but, he still may have a long future with football based on the latest reports making the rounds. It turns out, ESPN is eyeing Kelce to join the panel of Monday Night Football.
The show, hosted by Scott Van Pelt, features a panel who knows what they’re talking about when it comes to the game of football. Other notable names on the current panel include Adam Schefter, Ryan Clark, Marcus Spears, Michelle Beisner-Buck, and Robert Griffin III.
There’s a possibility that Griffin III may not return to the show as part of the broadcast panel, leading to a potentially empty seat that someone like Jason Kelce could occupy. With Kelce no longer on the field, he is a hot commodity, as NBC, CBS, and Amazon Prime all want the former NFL Center.
Securing a second career as an analyst for Monday Night Football isn’t a bad gig by any stretch. It’s a great way for Kelce to still be with the game of football, albeit as a spectator.
Jason Kelce is one of the best NFL Centers to ever wear a uniform. His mind for the game, as well as his experience on the field, would be an invaluable asset to any network that gets him. If he decide to go this route.
