Kris Jenner Shares Touching Tribute For Younger Sister
The KUWTK star shared the news on Instagram along with several photos of Karen Houghton. Kris Jenner’s caption read, “It is with the heaviest heart and deepest sadness that I share that my sister Karen passed away yesterday unexpectedly. My heart aches for my mom MJ and my niece Natalie and I pray that God guides us all through this difficult time.”

It continued, “Karen was beautiful inside and out. She was the sweetest, kindest, the most sensitive and vulnerable and so so funny. She always felt grateful and thankful for her life and treasured her family and friends and especially her beautiful daughter.”
Kris went on to say that Karen holds a “huge part” of her heart and that she cherishes all of the memories they have together. “Karen’s passing is a reminder that life is so short and precious and tomorrow is never promised. We must tell those we cherish how much we love them. I love you my beautiful sister,” she concluded the post.
Many followers took to the comments to express their condolences for the Kardashian-Jenner matriarch. A lot of people were surprised to find out that KUWTK star had a sister at all. “So sorry for your loss. Am I only one that didn’t realize she had a sister?” one person commented. “Notice how every single one of these photos are from [years] ago,” another pointed out.
The Sisters Didn’t Always Get Along
Despite Kris Jenner’s life in the public eye, Karen Houghton has managed to stay out of the spotlight for the most part. However, in 2014, she gave an interview about her bond with Kris. The sisters have had a rather complicated relationship over the years.
According to Karen, her sister changed drastically when she became an A-list celebrity. It also seemed like Kris’ younger sister took sides in her high-profile divorce from Caitlyn Jenner and she decided to favor her ex-in-law’s position in the matter.Two years later, Karen made the news again because she had undergone a five-hour-long facelift procedure to look more like her big sister.

In 2019, it seemed like the sisters had put their differences aside. Kris Jenner and Karen Houghton posed for a photo around Christmas time with their mother, MJ, and two of their daughters Natalie Zettel and Kylie Jenner.
Over the last several years, their relationship status has been unknown. Karen Houghton has not been spotted with the Kardashian-Jenner clan. Instead, she has opted to go under the radar.
Before her death, she was working as a part-time nurse and an author. She is survived by her daughter, Natalie, her mother, sister, several nieces, and a nephew. Karen Houghton was only 65 years old.
