‘The Masked Singer’ Who Is Beets, The Clues & Hints
The new episode of The Masked Singer saw four new competitors take the stage. One unmasking occurred as Afghan Hound was unmasked as Savannah Chrisley after losing the Smackdown to Gumball. However, the two competitors didn’t need to worry about that final round. In reality, it was three, as Beets is this season’s first duo competitor.
Here is a look at Beets and who we think this duo is on The Masked Singer.
Beets On The Masked Singer
The Beets came out as a duo and sang the song, “Home” by Michael Buble. Their performance was well-received and they moved on to the next rounds without worrying about being unmasked this week. When Nick Cannon asked them who they liked from The Wizard of Oz, they said Dorothy and Toto, thanks to their loyalty and friendship.
As for their clue package, they said “Home for us has been wherever we’re together.” They also said that, at one time, they had 40 million eyes on them. There was also an old radio and they said they felt the world pitted them against each other. However, they always had each other’s backs. There was a book shown with a Beet on it called Beeting the Odds.
They played cards and said they work well together. One of them has a “big old brain” and the other has an “unbeatable heart.” They then were on a farm and said it was time they were on stage together again, getting “back to our roots.”
The Men in Black clue on The Masked Singer was Toto from The Wizard of Oz. They said they are “the best of friends” and “pretty good co-stars too.”
Who is Beets on The Masked Singer?
The panelists had some interesting guesses, but all seemed to be on the wrong path. Rita Ora believes they are comedians and guessed Will Arnett and Jason Bateman. Ken Jeong went in a different direction and guessed K-Ci and JoJo. Robin Thicke then made his guess, picking Steve Martin and Martin Short.
However, the singing voices alone made it clear who is under The Beets costumes. This duo is none other than Ruben Studdard and Clay Aiken. They were the winner and runner-up on American Idol‘s second season. While the numbers are slightly off, the finale that season between the two singers brought in 38.1 million viewers.
The “brains” comment would refer to Clay Aiken, who ran for the United States House of Representatives. The clues were minimal mostly for the duo, but the two remain close friends and even toured together and had a Broadway show with each other.
