Brittany Mahomes Fracture Back, Warns About Pelvic Care
After a huge month, Brittany Mahomes has a big reason to slow down. Although February was full of excitement, the soccer player has hit a snag. Recently, Brittany reminded her followers to take good care of themselves. Specifically, she spoke about fracturing her back and the necessity of taking care of the pelvic floor after childbirth.
Brittany Mahomes Celebrates And Mourns
Undoubtedly, February was an extra exciting time for Brittany Mahomes, the Kansas City Chiefs Current co-owner alongside her husband, Patrick Mahomes. Patrick and the team brought home a big win from Super Bowl LVIII. Ever since, the couple has stayed busy keeping up with multiple publicity and celebratory events. After attending the Super Bowl afterparty on February 11, Brittany went with the star quarterback to the Chiefs’ victory parade in Kansas City, Missouri, three days later. Tragically, at the event shooting broke out and one person was killed and at least twenty-two others injured. Just two days after the disheartening incident, Brittany and Patrick visited wounded children from the parade at the hospital.
Brittany Mahomes Warns Importance Of Pelvic Health
Notably, Brittany Mahomes shares two children with Patrick: Sterling, 3, and Bronze, 1. But childbirth can come with its challenges. Not to mention the wear and tear on a mother’s body after the child arrives. On Brittany‘s Instagram Stories, she shared “Just your daily reminder: Once you have kids please take care of your pelvic floor.” Then she adds, “Seriously. From: A girl with a fractured back 🙂.” Although it isn’t a common injury, it can happen if the area is weakened with childbirth. Even so, she didn’t elaborate on exactly how her injury occurred but made a direct connection to addressing any pelvic floor issues.
Uncommon, But Connected
While Brittany Mahomes’ injury is uncommon, it can happen. Even though Brittany maintained a steady workout and healthy diet, she still had additional strain on her body after giving birth to her two beautiful children. Reportedly, Yves-Richard Dole, MD, with Metropolitan OB/GYN, says this situation can occur. He says, “The pelvic floor is connected to the lower back, and each of the bones are connected together by a series of ligaments and tissue.” Undeniably, childbirth is a huge stressor on a mother’s body. Dr. Dole also says it can leave your pelvic floor unstable in the aftermath. Although she didn’t give many more details, it will be necessary for her to slow down for the time being and recover.
