Casey Anthony is back in the news thanks to both a 2022 documentary where she told her side of her infamous murder trial and her parents’ 2023 documentary where they took lie detector tests to prove Anthony lied in the 2022 documentary. Now, Anthony wants to cash in on the spotlight even more and become a reality TV star.

Casey Anthony Wants A Reality TV Show
Casey Anthony came into the public eye in 2008 when police arrested her and charged her with the murder of her two-year-old daughter Caylee. The trial was a nationwide ordeal, with prosecutors claiming that Casey suffocated her daughter before dumping her body in the woods. Casey’s defense claimed that Caylee accidentally drowned and that Casey’s father George disposed of the body – something he denied.
Casey Anthony’s parents released an A&E documentary where they took lie detector tests. This came after a 2022 documentary where she accused her father of possibly having something to do with her daughter’s death and also accused him of sexually molesting her as a child. Both parents passed the tests as telling the truth, as they denied all Anthony’s allegations.
Anthony was found not guilty of all charges. This caused outrage across the nation, with Anthony being called “America’s most hated mom.” Despite this, Anthony has insisted that she doesn’t care what anyone thinks about her.
With Anthony back in the public eye a decade after her murder trial and prison sentence, she wants to cash in and make money from her infamy. Even though Anthony is only famous because her two-year-old daughter died under mysterious circumstances, she wants to cash in and become a reality TV star.
TV Networks Not Comfortable With Casey Anthony’s Pitch
Casey Anthony wants to have a reality TV show. Despite saying she doesn’t care what anyone thinks about her, Anthony wants to share her personal life with the world. Her pitch (via NY Post) is that the cameras would follow Casey as she works, socializes, dates, and shares her thoughts and opinions with the world. It also claims to let in members of her inner circle, many of whom have never shared their thoughts about her infamy before.
The problem is that no one at this time seems interested. Despite shopping the show to several networks, none have bit on it yet. One network executive spoke out about it, calling it a “losing bet.” They admitted there would be a large audience up front, but there isn’t anything interesting about Casey Anthony other than her daughter’s death over 15 years ago. With that said, the exec said they would watch it to see what happens.
