Tyler Cameron Honors Late Mother, Shares Final Texts
Bachelorette star Tyler Cameron honors his mother and reflects on her passing by sharing their final text exchange. Grab your tissues and keep reading for all the heartfelt details.
Dear Momma,
February is a difficult month for Tyler Cameron. His mother was rushed to the hospital and later died from a brain aneurysm in 2020. He took to his Instagram ahead of the anniversary of her death to pay tribute to his “momma.”
He shared a glimpse at his heartbreak in a lengthy letter to his late mother, Andrea. “Dear Momma,” he began. “Today is never an easy day. Today marks 4 years since your accident and when we last spoke. I miss the h*ll out of you. We all do.”
The Bachelorette alum went on to briefly mention his mother’s personality. “You were such a light and you put that light on everyone who needed it,” Tyler wrote. However, that wasn’t the point of his post and he stopped short of going “on and on” about how great his mom was.
“I want [to] use today to remind people to take their time,” he wrote before reminding people to slow down and take time for their loved ones.
Tyler Cameron Shares Last Text With Late Mother
Tyler Cameron has been one of the most sought-after reality TV stars since his time on The Bachelorette. In addition to appearing on the reality show, he’s done modeling, running marathons, and all kinds of things that take him far from home.
His busy life seems to have caused some regrets regarding missing time with his mom and family. “It’s so easy to get caught up in the ways of the world…Work, life, and relationships can so easily pull us away from those that love us the most,” he wrote on Instagram.
“My mom was always there and she was the rock. I took her for granted at times when I wish I would have taken my time,” Tyler reflected.
He went on to share his final text messages with his mother, noting that they were “short and rushed” because he didn’t take time for his mom.
The text exchange has a long message from his mother about missing her family and thanking him for answering her text. His mom said she was excited for his upcoming visit home.
His response was short: “You’re good. Just got to keep yourself busy. Love you!”
The reality star went on to discuss his regret over his short message. “I wish I could have that time back to really call her and tell her I love her and how excited I am to see her,” Tyler wrote.
He encouraged his followers to “Call your loved ones today, you never know when it will be your last.”
How He Honors Her Memory
Tyler and his two brothers created a foundation to honor their mother two years after her death. The Andrea C. Cameron Foundation provides scholarships to help high school students in the family’s home state of Florida attend college.
In his tribute to his mother, Tyler Cameron shared plans to expand the scholarships: “This year we will be adding 15 more students and spending over $250,000 on their tuition. That brings us to 22 students and roughly $400,000 in scholarships.”
He ended the heartfelt note to his late mother with another gentle reminder, “Love you momma! Love you all, call home for me.”
