Jesse Palmer is the host of The Bachelor and recently changed one of the most traditional phrases of the franchise. He gave his thoughts and opinions on the phrase change and felt it was more needed at the time. However, it completely shocked fans as they had not heard anything different the whole time the show was filmed. What was the phrase and what was Jesse’s opinion?

Jesse Palmer Takes Over As Host

Jesse Palmer took over as the host of the franchise after Chris Harrison resigned due to a racial conflict. He has quickly become a favorite and recently started giving his thoughts on the show every week. There are a lot of things to comment on this season, but he seems to be sticking to being a mediator in every situation. Even with the recent drama that came about in the house, he kept himself neutral. When asked about the two-on-one date, he validated both women’s feelings.

“I have actually never been on that side of a two-on-one date, so it’s hard to put myself in the women’s shoes. I think the circumstances for navigating a two-on-one date are very different for everybody.”

However, he has done a good job as the host and viewers hope he stays around for a while. Maybe he will make what Chris Harrison was making when he left if he sticks around.

What Phrase Was Changed?

There is a very popular phrase that is said after every rose ceremony. The phrase is:

“take a moment, and say your goodbyes”

However, Jesse changed that phrase to:

“take as much time as you need and when you’re ready, say your goodbyes.”

He said this phrase when Edwina and Allison were left without a rose. He gave his thoughts on the changed tradition.

“The Bachelor tradition is not to be messed with, so I don’t make these choices lightly. As I walked up to Joey and the podium, I could see the tension and emotion on Edwina and Allison’s faces, so I felt like offering them the courtesy to take as much time as needed.”

It seems as though the phrase Jesse used was more fitting in the time with both Edwina and Allison being so upset. It is hard to watch the girls be upset as they have still formed a connection with Joey Graziadei, and it seems as though Jesse said what needed to be said. However, fans were shocked by the change of words, but now that they have clarity on why he did so, it makes sense. What do you think about the change? Did you notice it?
