Hoda Kotb Weighs In On Wendy Williams Lifetime Documentary
Hoda and Jenna sat down with E! News correspondent Justin Sylvester to chat about some of the day’s headlines during The Scoop segment. They kicked off the conversation about the new Lifetime documentary titled Where Is Wendy Williams?
Hoda Kotb was the first to speak up on the subject. “Okay, Justin, I have to tell you I did see some of this Wendy Williams documentary, just a clip, and it made me sad to watch it. It’s just heartbreaking because we’ve known Wendy for many years,” she said.

The Today host continued saying that it is “hard to watch” Wendy Williams in her “current state.”
Wendy Williams was hospitalized in May of 2023. The beloved talk show host has displayed increasingly unstable behavior since the cancelation of The Wendy Williams Show in 2022. The latest Lifetime documentary is supposed to take a look at what led to Wendy’s spiral, her struggles with Graves disease, and what she’s been up to over the last two years.
Fans Question Wendy’s Well-Being Following The Trailer Release
In the trailer that was released last week, Wendy was shown drunk and struggling to stand. At the same time, she was shown insisting that she was of sound mind to friends and family. A voice off-screen asked Wendy if she had been to see a neurologist. “To find out if I’m crazy?” she replied.
Someone else off-camera narrated the scene saying, “Anybody could look at her and tell this is not just alcohol — there’s something more going on.”

Many of Wendy’s fans shared Hoda Kotb’s sentiment upon the release of the documentary. “Oh no. I’m so saddened by this,” one person reacted. Another fan responded to the trailer saying, “This is so messed up.” Others said they don’t think they can watch Wendy spiral out of control on screen.
Several fans questioned whether or not Wendy okayed the project. “This looks sad and not like something Wendy would approve,” someone else posted. “Unless this is her desperate cry for help,” one person commented on the trailer.
Where Is Wendy Williams? is scheduled for a two-night debut on Lifetime. It will air on February 24 and 25 at 8 p.m. EST. Wendy Williams: The Movie and Wendy Williams: What A Mess will also air on the network on February 23.
