Wait, is Meghan Crumpler of 1000-Lb Best Friends preying on her fans?

One Instagram user recently had an interaction with her that other fans found to be pretty bizarre. And it all happened over questions about Meghan’s MLM company.

After reading through the message, plenty of other Redditors felt concerned about the situation. Keep reading to see what was said.

Is Meghan Crumpler trying to push her MLM products on fans?

Many reality television stars sell multi-level marketing products. In fact, the Sister Wives cast is particularly well-known for it. But it appears that Meghan Crumpler of 1000-Lb Best Friends does too.

Over the years, many MLM companies have come under fire for their predatory practices. Many make more money by recruiting more people into the down-line than they do by selling their actual products. As a result, many salespeople end up in bad situations because they can’t meet their sales quota.

But for reality TV stars, it’s generally a bit easier because they already have such a wide audience to sell to.

One Redditor recently got a message from Meghan online, which immediately sent up red flags.

“Meghan messaged me… because I questioned someone else,” a Redditor began their post. They attached a screenshot of the message. “I questioned her mlm recruiter and Meghan messaged me? Idk.”

In the comments, the OP clarifies they replied directly to Meghan’s recruiter on one of Meghan’s Instagram posts, prompting Meghan to message the OP.

“I will never show a product that I don’t think is a good product. I truly look into it before I show it,” Meghan said in her message to the OP. She compared herself to an actress in a commercial.

Redditors react to the bizarre message request

Other Reddit users readily agreed the message was odd. Most reality television stars don’t initiate conversations with their online followers. Some Redditors thought Meghan might be trying to recruit the OP into her MLM’s downline.

Comments included:

  • “This is manipulative. There’s no way to ‘truly look into’ an MLM without discovering that they’re predatory scams. Her up line may have even coached her on the message.”
  • “Oh she’s deep into the MLM cult. 😳”
  • “I used to sell for an MLM (candles) & they definitely tell you how to come back from a no. There is always verbiage to use!”
  • “Yeah I’m pretty sure every MLM is a scam….. I wonder if this will make it onto the show (it looks like it was renewed)”
