It is time for a new season of Below Deck, which will start tonight on Bravo. Decider got the chance to talk to new Captain Kerry Titheradge and hear his thoughts on taking over for Captain Lee. Tonight’s premiere will be the start of Season 11.

Who Is Captain Kerry Titheradge?

After last season,  Captain Lee Rosbach has stepped down. Now, Captain Kelly is taking over for him. He has children which are a huge part of his life. Kelly revealed, “I had to make a choice when I had reached the pinnacle of my career.” He worked for a friend painting for a while, which put him home for his kids. He said, “I put the earbuds in and put on self-help books and started yoga and meditating. I tried everything, everything that’s good for you, to get my head straight.”

He explained this decision more saying, “I was on the verge of a divorce. My wife was always the emotional support for my kids, and I was left to be the disciplinarian. That’s what I was taught by my parents. I wasn’t emotionally connected to my children like I am now. I had to make a choice when I had reached the pinnacle of my career.” He went on to say “I was running a 300-foot yacht in the Maldives, which was incredible. There’s only a small club of us who have done that.”

Taking Over On Below Deck

Captain Kerry was asked about taking over for Captain Lee and he said, “I feel grateful. It’s an honor to continue Lee’s legacy and to create my own.” He did tease that you can expect more excursions and beaches on this season than normal. So don’t expect them to just stay on the yacht all the time on Below Deck. He does care about the environment.

This is actually Captain Kerry’s second season of Below Deck and he is excited to be back again. He said that at Bravocon last year he got the chance to meet Captain Lee and they went to the gym, where Captain Lee actually dominated.
