Travis Kelce’s Brother Responds To Taylor Swift NFL Backlash
There has been a huge backlash from a sector of NFL fans who are tired of seeing Taylor Swift shown during Kansas City Chiefs games. The people complaining seem to think that Taylor shouldn’t be attending her boyfriend’s games to show support. However, one person who has no problem with it is Travis’s brother, Jason Kelce.
Here is what Jason Kelce had to say about the Taylor Swift controversy.
Jason Kelce speaks out on Taylor Swift NFL controversy
While Travis Kelce is headed to the Super Bowl, his brother Jason Kelce might be stepping away from the NFL. Jason, who plays for the Philadelphia Eagles, lost in the NFC Divisional Championship game to the Detroit Lions. Now that he is pondering retirement, he will be watching the big game with the fans. One thing that won’t bother him is seeing Taylor Swift on TV during the games.
Several very vocal NFL fans seem to believe that Taylor Swift shouldn’t be supporting her boyfriend Travis Kelce by coming to his games. The big problem isn’t Taylor, but the fact that the NFL camera crews have made it a priority to find her and show her multiple times on TV during the telecasts. While no one complained when NFL camera crews showed Gisele Bündchen when she attended Tom Brady’s games, there seems to be a great fear for many men in seeing Taylor at the games.
However, Jason Kelce is not one of those men. Jason took part in an interview with WCPO 9 (via PEOPLE). He talked about Swift’s appearance on TV during the games. “The attention’s there because the audience wants to see it. I mean, if people didn’t want to see it they wouldn’t be showing it. I know that,” Jason said.
Jason Kelce supports Taylor Swift’s presence on TV
Jason Kelce is no stranger to getting attention from the NFL camera crews. A recent image burned into many NFL fans’ minds is Jason without a shirt. He raised his arms, cheering for his brother’s team. While he is not shy when it comes to his presence in front of the cameras, he said Taylor Swift deserves to be there.
Jason called Taylor an “Unbelievable role model for young women across the globe. I think that the NFL would probably be foolish not to, you know, show her and … be a role model for all the young girls out there.” A lot of the fans who hate seeing her on TV are tired of how many times the camera cuts to her. However, there are just as many who seem to believe that the NFL is a “boy’s club” and girls aren’t allowed. As Jason points out, that isn’t the case.
