‘MBFFL’ Did Heather Sykes Split From Her Boyfriend?
Heather Sykes was encouraged on My Big Fat Fabulous Life by Whitney Way Thore to get a boyfriend. MBFFL fans saw that group dates happened and the mom of two kids, Ava and Elijah, didn’t take to the men. And, things didn’t work out with Buddy Bell, either. She and her husband, Jared Burton married young, and they split in 2015. Last year, the TLC support character was with a man named Todd Burton. But now, it seems that they split.
Heather Sykes Is Popular With My Big Fat Fabulous Life fans
Whitney Way Thore is the lead character on the TLC show, but she also brings along friends. Heather was one of those, and they seemed to be besties. However, many people think they dumped their friendship. That came after her bestie seemed to shade Whitney on social media. In November, the My Big Fat Fabulous Life character shared a cryptic message that said:
I think it;s important to realize that no matter how good you are to people, it won’t make them good to you.
Was Heather Sykes shading Whitney Way Thore? Or, was she shading Todd Turner? If you don’t know, he’s a photographer and he teaches photography. Is it coincidental that the shading came about a week after Sykes posted her last photo of Todd on her Instagram on November 13?
Now that fewer happy photos arrived from the My Big Fat Fabulous Life character, TLC fans naturally wonder if she split from Todd. So, one of them asked her and she gave her answer in a Q&A that made its way to Reddit.
MBFFL Whitney Way Thore’s Friend Is Single Again?
The screenshot on Reddit revealed that a fan asked, “Are you still with your boyfriend?” Unfortunately, she is not, and she told the MBFFL fan it was over.

In response, few TLC fans think that Whitney’s friend was necessarily the one let down. After all, she seems strong, and as she unfollowed Whitney recently, she has her own mind.
- I…noticed that she still follows both of his accounts (his main and his photography account). Maybe something happened over the holidays? It looks like they were still dating when she performed in The Wizard of Oz (mid November). I just want her to be happy!! 😭
- I guess I’m looking at it from the perspective of how I disliked TLC referencing her as ‘Buddy’s ex’. Any opinion on the end of their relationship is speculation (including mine). But I’m not going to act like she needs to be felt sorry for when it could equally be her choice to dump him. She doesn’t want to talk about it. It doesn’t mean she was dumped.
- Not a “poor Heather!” situation either way! She’s amazing and she will get through it. Just a bummer with everything else that she’s had to deal with lately and the fact that she’s wanted a relationship for a long time.
