‘The View’ Joy Behar Denied Vacation On-Air After COVID Battle
During a recent episode of The View, Whoopi Goldberg is given a shout-out for being a “Godmother.” And Joy Behar is denied vacation by the producer. This comes after her extended leave in December for her first experience with COVID-19.
Whoopi Goldberg Lets The View Audience Know Joy Behar Had COVID
In December, Whoopi Goldberg announced that Joy Behar was out with COVID-19, for the first time ever. She says, “Joy is out this week. You know why? She finally got COVID.” On Dec. 12, Whoopi acknowledges, “Three years, four years in, it finally got her.” But having a week off for COVID just isn’t doing it for Joy. While an adventurous opportunity is being discussed on The View, she boldly asks for some much-needed vacation time.
Joy Behar Is Ready To Set Sail
While discussing a TikTok sensation, Whoopi Goldberg is recognized as the “Godmother’ of the Serenade of the Seas cruise ship by Marc Sebastian. Admittedly, Whoopi runs a tight ship – two in fact! Together, the hosts watch a video from the TikTok influencer that talks about Whoopi’s ship. After hearing the exciting message from Marc, the ladies chatter about the glorious opportunity it would be to go on a nine-month cruise. Quickly, Joy Behar volunteer to take leave for such an amazing venture. “I would do it. Brian, can you give me nine months off? Because I would do it,” Joy remarks to the producer off-stage. “It sounds like such a great trip.” But Joy’s request immediately gets denied on air in front of the live audience.
The Hosts Discuss How Reasonable It Would Be
Notably, the cruise costs anywhere between $54,000 to $117,000 to float the ocean for three-quarters of the year. It includes sixty countries, swimming pools, restaurants, bars, and full accommodation lodging. Although not for everyone, The View hosts discussed that the price is comparable to many assisted living for a year and is much more fun. Although Sara Haines admits couldn’t hack it since she would “come back two sizes up and hungover.” So Joy Behar crassly states, “Oh, well, this is not good for people who are alcoholics.”

But Whoopi Goldberg pushes the idea to “see if we can get anyone who can handle it to go take as much time as they could on the ship.” Alyssa Farah Griffin just imagines all the drama that would brew on a boat for that long. Admittedly, it didn’t take much to convince Sunny Hostin though. She eagerly says, to producer Brian Teta, “Can we go for a week, Brian?” But he adamantly responds, “No.” But Joy Behar persists in convincing him saying she wants to go and even thinking of ways to have the show on board. However, he wasn’t swaying with their pleas.
