‘1000-Lb Best Friends’ Returns With No Tina, What Happened?
It appears that TLC plans to bring back 1000-Lb Best Friends after all. However, cast member Tina Arnold reportedly won’t be part of Season 3 when it hits the network.
Tina Arnold recently confirmed she parted ways with 1000-Lb Best Friends and gave reasons for the exit. However, some viewers think that TLC may have actually fired the former reality star.

Tina Arnold is done with 1000-Lb Best Friends
Although Tina Arnold has no immediate plans to return to TLC, she still maintains a pretty active social media presence. And that’s when she revealed she had left the show.
“… I choose to no longer be affiliated with the show if it decided to move forward,” Tina wrote in the comments on an Instagram post. “It’s just not for me and my family. I don’t want surgery, and there’s no room for weight loss without surgery on television.”
Over the past two seasons, Tina proved to be pretty unpopular with 1000-Lb Best Friends viewers so the statement didn’t come as a total surprise.
But many were surprised this week when Dr. Charles Procter shared they were filming for the show. He tagged Vannessa Cross and Meghan Crumpler in his post, but not Tina Arnold nor Ashely Sutton. As far as fans know, Ashely still plans on participating with the show.

Redditors react to Dr. Procter snubbing Tina
After Dr. Procter made the post, Redditors immediately noticed Tina wasn’t included in the post.
“So I guess we can kinda confirm that [Tina] must’ve been fired 😭 just a few days after, and she isn’t tagged. YIKES,” the OP shared on a thread.
Other Redditors thought it was likely TLC quietly fired Tina. Others wrote:
- “[Tina] said she wasn’t coming back because it is a weight loss surgery show and she’s not having the surgery aka if you’re not having the procedure you’re fired lol”
- “When in reality if she lost weight on her own and wasn’t a terrible person I think she’d still be on the show. At least that’s my opinion anyway.”
