Netflix’s ‘Ransom Canyon’: New Details On Western Drama
Netflix has more news on Ransom Canyon, its new Western series that is a mashup of Virgin River and Yellowstone. This stars Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly in a “romance-fueled family drama and contemporary Western saga that charts the intersecting lives of three ranching families, all set against the rugged expanse of Texas Hill Company.”
This new Netflix escapist series is based on Jodi Thomas’ Ransom Canyon books. Each episode is one hour long. However, the network has not revealed how many episodes will air in the first season.
Now, Netflix has shared more information. That includes more cast, as well as more information about this dishy story that viewers will love. Netflix has been developing this series since 2021. Now, they are filming. Hopefully, the network will be dropping the episodes before 2024 is over.

Who Is Starring In Ransom Canyon?
Besides Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly, who else stars in Ransom Canyon? Recently added are James Brolin, Eoin Macken, and Lizzy Greene. Also, Marianly Tejada, Jack Schumacher, Garrett Wareing, and Andrew Liner have been added to the main cast.
What Has Netflix Shared About New Western Drama?
Ransom Canyon is the story of three ranches in this small Texas town. Staten Kirkland (Duhamel) owns the Double K Ranch. He loves his life and doesn’t want to change how things are done.
As for Kelly, she plays Quinn. She lived in the big city as a concert pianist, but retreated home when things got rough. Now, she owns a local dancehall and is a lavender farmer. Can she make her fresh start in Texas go the distance?
Brolin portrays Cap Fuller, owner of Fuller Ranch. He is an ex-Arm captain. However, the ranch has seen better days, and so has Cap. Described as a “salty old man,” Cap has never been the same since losing his only son in Afghanistan.
Davis (Macken) owns the Bar W Ranch. He is “intent on capitalizing on the invaluable aquifer runner below Ransom’s ranch land.” He and Stanton have always argued. But, the stakes went higher when Quinn returned to town.

Ransom Canyon Is A Real Texas Town
Netflix’s new series is called Ransom Canyon, but this is not a random name. This is a real town just outside of Lubbock, Texas with a population of just under 1,200.
However, according to IMDb, they are filming this series in Albuquerque, New Mexico. There has been some on-location filming in Santa Fe, as well as Las Vegas.
Furthermore, there is no information on when Netflix will drop the series. Hopefully, later in 2024.
