When Did Bravo Cancel This Series?
Shahs Of Sunset was the name of a series on Bravo that followed six Persian-American friends who resided in Los Angeles. The series took a look at how these friends balanced their family lives, their social lives, and their traditions. Some of the cast members included a real estate agent named Mercedes, a singer named Asa, and “Persian Princess” Golnesa.
The reality TV drama made its debut on March 11, 2012. It ran for nine seasons before coming to an end in August 2021. Per TV Insider, the cancellation of the series was announced in April 2022. Bravo decided to pull the plug on the series after Mike Shouhed, a member of the cast, was arrested for domestic violence.
Production of the series, however, insisted the cancellation had nothing to do with the arrest. Instead, production claimed Shahs Of Sunset ran its course after nine seasons and had no story left to tell.
Fans Beg For Shahs Of Sunset Return
In a new thread on Reddit, one Bravo fan admits they just started watching the series. They were three seasons into Shahs Of Sunset and they loved everything about it. They enjoyed the cast, the drama, and the storylines. This fan, however, was pretty upset when they realized they would eventually run out of episodes to enjoy. The panicked fan begged the network to bring the show back and asked what happened.
WHY DID THIS SHOW GET CANCELLED?!?? I am on the third season. I love the drama. The families. The crazy friend fights. Everything!! This is the time to bring it back!!!!!!!! Does it get really bad in the later seasons?
In response to the OP, fans noted they should probably watch all nine seasons before fighting for the show’s return. Other fans echoed the production’s reasoning that the series had just ran its course. Here’s what some said in response to the OP:
