As 1000-lb Sisters fans keeping up with Tammy Slaton’s real-time updates know, her weight loss journey has been a complete success. For many years, her followers didn’t think they’d ever see the day that she would finally drop weight and keep it off.
To give a sense of just how far Tammy Slaton has come since she decided to get herself in gear, many 1000-lb Sisters followers agree that Tammy looks even slimmer than Amy these days. That says a lot, considering the fact that Amy dropped weight long before Tammy ever started.

Because of her weight, Tammy Slaton was limited in the things she could do. One of those limitations included travel. However, with the progress she made, she was able to travel to Florida for a family trip. This was shared on social media in 2023 when the trip took place. Even so, viewers will finally get to see that play out in 1000-lb Sisters episodes on TLC.
Based on the clip, Tammy Slaton and company visit the beach, a first for Tammy. Chris had to get a wheelchair capable of navigating the shifting sand in order for Tammy to get close enough to dip her toes in the water. Indeed, there are moments where she nearly tips over. At the end of the day, though, it’s a triumphant moment for her.
1000-LB Sisters Celeb Gets Emotional At The Beach
For the first time in her life, Tammy touches beach sand, and gets to feel it between her toes. This is a shining moment for her, as well as a testament to all the hard work she put in to get to that point. Because of her dedication and motivation to make the changes she needed to make, this is her reward, and a fitting one at that.
Tammy says that the beach is “beautiful”. Even Chris Combs is impressed with how far Tammy has come, adding that there was a time when she would not have even gotten into a wheelchair to help her get down to the beach.
Touching the sand and experiencing the beach in person for the first time is a personal victory for Tammy. According to her, after everything she has heard about the beach, and the way people have described it, nothing beats getting to experience it in person. Judging by Tammy’s reaction, it was certainly worth the wait.
