‘Sister Wives’ Kody Brown Demanded To Be In Wedding Special?
Christine’s Sister Wives special was meant to be about her wedding day. Many viewers thought it was a little odd to grant Kody Brown any screen time.
But according to sources, Kody actually insisted on having a role in the episode.
Some Sister Wives fans feel surprised by the news, while others think it’s typical Kody behavior. Keep reading to see what the sources said and form some opinions.
Kody Brown feels that Sister Wives is his show
Would viewers really be surprised if Kody Brown exhibited diva-like behavior?
When Sister Wives first premiered, TLC marketed it as a positive show about a polygamous family. Over a decade later, viewers see through the facade. It’s largely been about appearances.
And that’s partially why Kody Brown felt he needed to be part of the wedding special.
Someone very close to Kody allegedly spoke to the press and defended the TLC star’s right to appear in the special.
“Sister Wives is Kody’s show. He’s head of the family and in the beginning, he was head of the family’s contract,” an insider reportedly told The Sun. “He was the one who initiated the show. It will forever be his show. He’s being kind to allow Christine on the show at this point, but as far as the special goes, he had to be part of it because he knows it brings in money.”

A source also reportedly told The Sun that Kody needs a paycheck and will jump at every opportunity to bring in more money. If that meant appearing in his ex-wife’s wedding special, then so be it.
What’s really going on with the family patriarch?
After the ratings Sister Wives received over the past few seasons, it seems pretty unlikely that TLC would cancel the series now. However, a little rebranding is probably in order now. Fans are still interested in keeping up with the family, but there is no “sister wives” family dynamic any longer.
For quite some time, Sister Wives fans speculated that Kody Brown has been absolutely raging and seething behind the scenes. Onscreen, he’s clearly angry that his wives left him. But if he feels like he’s losing his income, he’s bound to behave even more erratically.
Without a doubt, the triple divorce will spawn new storylines for the family. Fans are intrigued to see what happens next.
The second half of Christine Brown and David Woolley’s wedding special kicks off tonight at 10 PM Eastern time. Tune into TLC at that time to see Christine and David officially become man and wife!
