‘Moonshiners’ Digger Manes Receives Huge Fan Support
Moonshiners season premiere revealed that star Digger Manes had a rare blood disorder. This caused fans great concern, so Digger took to Facebook to let fans know what was going on. He has a form of leukemia, and while it is not a lethal version of the disease, it is still serious.
Moonshiners fans came out in full force as supportive of Digger, though. Here is a look at the support he has received.
Moonshiners Digger announces leukemia diagnosis
Digger Manes revealed to his close friend Mark that he had a rare blood disease on the season premiere of Moonshiners. In that premiere episode, he said he didn’t have “much time left” and wanted to leave his mark on the world before he died. He made it sound like he had a terminal disease and that he would soon die. Thankfully, that wasn’t the actual case in real life.
After the episode aired, Digger went to Facebook to reveal the actual diagnosis. He said that he had no say in the final cut of the Moonshiners episodes and that he didn’t know the premiere would make it sound like he was about to die. Digger wanted to let fans know that wasn’t the actual truth and things were a little more hopeful for him when it came to his future.
Digger and Mark have big plans this season to expand their business across Tennessee. However, this is just because Digger is facing his mortality. It is not because he is dying of a “rare blood disease.” Instead, the rare blood disorder is Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. This is a form of leukemia that is not terminal.
However, it is not clear sailing for Digger. Instead, Digger said that the disease will just make him “miserable” until he dies from something else. He then said he wants fans to “shine on” and keep following him on Moonshiners.
Moonshiners fans unite in support of Digger
Fans swept in and sent their support to Digger after the Moonshiners episode. Even with his good news on Facebook, fans were still there to support the reality TV star. The Facebook comments showed the love that fans of the show have for the moonshiner.
The Facebook post had an impressive 5,500 comments and 670 shares after Digger posted it on Tuesday night.
