Rachel Lindsay and Bryan Abasolo met and fell in love on Season 13 of The Bachelorette. Throughout their marriage, the couple kept their private life to themselves.
That’s one reason why Bachelor Nation fans were surprised when Bryan unexpectedly filed for divorce on January 2, 2024. He listed the date of separation as just two days earlier, December 31, 2023.
He took to his Instagram to get ahead of the gossip and confirmed he was ending the marriage of just four years.
Rachel, who is known for being outspoken, has remained oddly quiet on the situation. However, a close friend of hers shared a little insight into how she’s doing.
E! News host Justin Sylvester was on Today With Hoda & Jenna the day after the divorce news broke. He revealed that he had spoken to the former ABC star just hours before his appearance on the talk show.
“She’s taking it day by day,” he said. “[Lindsay’s] just trying to pick up the pieces. She’s in survival mode,” Justin added, per PEOPLE magazine.
The Daily Pop co-host further shared that Rachel Lindsay will “have a lot to say” when she’s ready.

While Rachel has yet to speak about the divorce, her subtle change says a thousand words. An eagle-eyed Reddit user noticed a change to the lawyer’s Instagram account.
Before Bryan filed for divorce, Rachel Lindsay proudly displayed her marriage name on her Instagram account. However, fans noticed that ‘Abasolo’ was removed from her last name within hours of the divorce filing.
She’s now back to just ‘Rachel Lindsay,’ which she kept using professionally after the marriage, such as with her debut novel released earlier this year.

Some Redditors were surprised how quickly Rachel dropped her husband’s last name. One Bachelor Nation fan speculated that the divorce filing blindsided the Bachelorette star.
“I assume (hope) the decision to divorce was mutual, but am getting the impression that him filing in early jan and releasing public ig statement took her by surprise,” they wrote.
