Will LL Cool J Still Guest Star On ‘NCIS: Hawaii’ Season 3?
NCIS: Hawaii is currently in production, with a Season 3 premiere scheduled in mid-February. The season was derailed due to the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes. This means a shorter season. Could this shortened season mean that the promised LL Cool J recurring special guest role is in jeopardy? Is Special Agent Sam Hanna still going to be a major player?
Will NCIS: Los Angeles alum LL Cool J still be in the Hawaii spinoff for Season 3?
Will Still Guest Star On NCIS Hawaii Season 3?
Last spring, fans of NCIS: Los Angeles were heartbroken when the series was canceled after 14 seasons. However, fans were elated when LL Cool J was a guest star on the Hawaii Season 2 finale, reprising his role as Special Agent Sam Hanna. That was when it was announced that he would be returning for Season 3 in a recurring guest role.
However, things became complicated with the strikes. This meant that the expected fall premieres were not filmed. Moreover, when things were resolved, the seasons were cut short. Does that mean that Special Agent Sam Hanna won’t be part of Season 3?
Thanks to the traditional NCIS: Hawaii blessing before filming, fans know that LL Cool J is confirmed back. That is because he was at the ceremony and photographed with the cast. Those cast members include Vanessa Lachey (Jane Tennant), Alex Tarrant (Kai Holman), Noah Mills (Jesse Boon), Jason Antoon (Ernie Malik), Yasmine Al-Bustami (Lucy Tara), and Tori Anderson (Kathrine Marie Whistler).
Executive producers Matt Bosack, Jan Nash, and Christopher Silber are thrilled that LL Cool J is going to be part of this upcoming season. They told Variety, “All of us at NCIS: Hawaii have been huge fans of LL Cool J for years and couldn’t be more thrilled or honored to be adding his spectacular talent to our ohana for ‘Season 3.”
When this was announced, LL Cool J was going to be a recurring guest star in a 20+ episode season. Now that it is cut in half, will he be part of more episodes, as this will be a compact season? CBS has not revealed anything as of yet. But, fans may certainly be curious.

Is The Team Safe In Season 3?
NCIS: Hawaii Season 2 ended with the team in danger. While Jane acted in secrecy, shocking and splintering the team, they were helped by Sam Hanna. However, there is going to be some fallout from Jane’s actions. This includes professional repercussions, as well as trust within her team.
Will the team be so distracted by the drama that ensued that they don’t seem that they are in imminent danger? Or will Special Agent Sam Hanna protect them as they work through the disruption?
