Kody Brown wants everyone to put the drama in the past

The drama keeps escalating in the Sister Wives universe. However, Kody Brown wants to move on from all the bad feelings.

“It’s a journey that goes inward and it’s a journey that’s outward,” Kody admitted to PEOPLE in a recent interview. “You have to express forgiveness to the people you’ve been involved with.”

“You have to express understanding and hope that at the end of an era for us as a family, we still have hope of a friendship and a loving or kind relationship with each other in the future because we’re bound forever through our kids,” he continued.

Many Sister Wives viewers likely feel taken aback by his words. Over the past year, Kody Brown has said incredibly harsh things about his ex-wives, particularly Christine.

But even so, Kody maintains that he’s going to be a better person this year.

“I feel like my confidence is coming back,” the TLC star went on to say. “I got to find that space of grace and love for myself as well. Be it really forgiving of simple things, like just being angry about what has happened. I want to forgive myself for that and move on.”

“I remember this great life that we had and what an experience to be a team with these 22 people and just trying to survive the rapids of life and it was great,” Kody added. “There’s my optimism. It’s back. I’m seeing my past again and saying, ‘It was lovely.’ It’s changed now.”

To conclude the interview, Kody said he hoped everyone could just move on.

Are fans ready to take the family patriarch seriously?

Even if Kody Brown’s message is genuine, it will be a very long time until fans are ready to believe him. After all, he’s shown time and time again that he holds grudges and often acts out of spite. He will likely have to prove he’s changed with his actions before his family members are ready to take him seriously.
