Fans tuned into Lifetime for a new episode of Married at First Sight on Wednesday, Dec. 27, only to find the episode not on. Why was that, and when will the show return?

It’s always annoying for fans of shows when an episode doesn’t air as initially expected. Fans take to the internet to find out if their programming is off or if it’s a planned break. That was certainly the case for Married at First Sight fans on Wednesday, Dec. 27.

Why Wasn’t Married at First Sight On?

Fans got ready for Married at First Sight Season 17, Episode 11. Sadly, it didn’t air, and this was something that Lifetime warned viewers of in a teaser for the next part of the season.

The show is on its midseason break. This makes sense with the time of year. People travel a lot to see friends and family, so they’re not watching TV. It leads to networks seeing a sharp decline in the linear numbers. With the cost of creating content now, networks need to be strategic in their schedules.

The good news with it being a planned break is that there’s also a planned return. There isn’t too long to wait to see the next couple walk down the aisle and see just how blind love is. Can a marriage work when couples know nothing about each other?

When will Married at First Sight Return?

Just how long is “not too long,” though? The good news is Meaww puts the return date as Wednesday, Jan. 3. That means fans only need to wait an extra week for the new episode. There is a teaser, and fans already know what to expect in Episode 11.

The new episode picks up with the couples making it to their one-month anniversaries. With adventures, romances, and heartbreak, there will be plenty of drama for fans to check out. The synopsis makes it clear that not everyone is in the mood to do the anniversary activities planned. These activities include skiing, ice skating, and horseback riding in the mountains. One husband will leave his wife in tears, but it’s not clear if this is due to the anniversary plans or because this marriage isn’t one that will work.

More Information

The teaser offers up some other exciting moments throughout the next few episodes. Michael will return despite being left at the altar on his wedding day. This is a second chance at love, and Love Is Blind fans know that that can sometimes work out very well. Then there’s Lauren G and Orion Martzloff, who created drama before the midseason finale. Orion decided to end it all, but the two need to give their marriage another chance. Clare and Cameron look to have hit a bump, but this could just be a small one on the way to happily ever after.
