‘B&B’ Star John McCook Talks Keeping If Eric Would Survive Secret
The Bold And The Beautiful star John McCook had to keep Eric Forrester’s fate a secret from fans. They made it appear that he was going to die, but John couldn’t share what his contract was and if he would be sticking around. This was very important to keep the spoilers away and he did a great job with it.
Eric Forrester’s Fate
Eric Forrester was given a terminal diagnosis and the family was heartbroken to hear that he was going to die. Fans didn’t want John McCook to leave the show, but they thought it was going to happen. Of course, as soap operas do they changed things up and he survived just fine. Things were looking bad for a little bit, but now they have turned around and he is on the mend.
John McCook Speaks Out
John McCook spoke to Soap Opera Digest about having to keep if he would live or die a secret. This was hard for him and he didn’t hold back. Here is what he had to say:
“There’s been so much internet chat. I’ve been getting these congratulatory messages from people in, you know, Iowa, who say ‘Congratulations on your long career’ and people mourning the loss of Eric Forrester and I’m just going, ‘This is great!’ It’s very involving and people are really responding a lot to the story and that’s great! That’s great for us.”
He revealed that he had to keep it a secret. They wanted the viewers to see it all play out on the show The Bold And The Beautiful and not be spoiled. They did a great job of doing this and it doesn’t usually happen. Now Eric is focused on trying to be healthy. Viewers are going to get to see a new storyline without him being sick. It is great news that they decided to keep this beloved character alive.
