‘1000-Lb Sisters’ How Tammy Slaton Beat Death Eight Times
Tammy Slaton from 1000-Lb Sisters on TLC was so large that she experienced health problems and nearly died. In fact, her mental health wasn’t good, and in 2018, she almost took her own life. In total, she claims that she fought death at least eight times in her life.
Tammy Slaton Was Close To Death
TLC fans struggled to support Amy Slaton Halterman’s sister. Often, she seemed sullen, aggressive and determined to eat herself to death. When the show started, fans heard that she weighed in at about 600 lbs. However, despite efforts to get her weight down, she increased in size. Trapped in her own prison, she couldn’t move around much at all. So, rumors started that she had passed away.
Tammy Slaton stopped breathing at least twice that 1000-Lb Sisters know of. Remember, Chris Combs was loading her up in the van when she became unconscious. Then in Season 4, the TLC show revisited the occasion when her trach got clogged and she nearly died again. Well, it wouldn’t have surprised fans if she hadn’t survived, but she managed to get a grip and turn her life around.
1000-Lb Sisters Star Calls Herself A ‘Survivor’

I am a true survivor. I have fought death at least eight times. I’ve been on life-support three times. I’ve had a treat I’ve had Covid. I’ve had a blood clot in my right lung smarten up and got weight loss surgery. Best thing I’ve ever did I’m walking testimony
