Has Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson been caught lying to customers about memorial freshies? She and her sister, Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Efird created 100 Anna Cardwell freshies, retailing at $15. After Anna Cardwell passed away, a lot happened within the family. They seemed to want to ensure that her two daughters, Kylee and Kaitlyn, were very taken care of for the holiday. Of course, fans saw Mama June’s husband, Justin Stroud taking out a wad of large bills when they were shopping at Walmart. Therefore, they felt that the family needed to stop asking for donations and gifts when there were kids really in need. Plus, they made a lavish Amazon Wishlist with items fans did not even think were just for the girls.
Now, according to a Reddit thread, someone watched a TikTok Alana made about the freshies. Alana was talking out of both sides of her mouth as she claimed that the proceeds would go to Kylee and Kaitlyn for the holidays. However, upon the OP looking closer, it seemed that they were donating 1K of the proceeds to cancer:
- Her post states shes donating $1k to a cancer org in honor of her sister yet shes asking for donations & for people to buy freshies (has a pic of Anna on it) of someone they truly dont even know. So buy a freshie-give me $ (for the girls) Yes just pulled out a stack of cash at walmart the other day. Stop pushing for views & donations its disgusting. We will NEVER see proof of that cancer donation.
This means that Honey Boo Boo’s nieces will get just $500 from the proceeds for the holidays. Yet, it is not what fans who bought the freshies may have originally thought when they purchased them. So, what did fellow Redditors have to say? They had a lot of thoughts and most were questioning the entire family.
Grieving & Scamming
Honey Boo Boo’s nieces, as aforementioned, would still get $500 for the holidays from the freshies. That is not bad but fans doubted that they were making any donations.
- This is frighteningly carefully worded — I would like to donate versus I am going to donate That’s not a simple turn of phrase. That’s a legal difference. Ugh.
Then, some felt awful for Kaitlyn who lives with Mama June and Justin Stroud. June has been all over social media since Anna passed and she has been ranting and raving. One follower wondered how their grieving works with June saying atrocious things while her granddaughter sits by and listens.
- We know that K is within earshot of the crap that June is spewing bc when K is sitting with Justin on his live, you can hear June’s big mouth in the background talking on there also.
In the end, it is really up to the fans and followers to decide where they want to put their money. They can always just donate to a cancer charity on behalf of Anna and call it a day.
