It has been five days since Big Bang Theory star Mayim Bialik took to social media with shocking Jeopardy! news. She would not be returning to co-host the syndicated game show with Ken Jennings.
Now, Mayim made it a point to clarify her exit as one of the game show hosts was not her decision. Her statement noted that she was informed by Sony that she would not be returning as a host.
The actress added that she was grateful for her time with the Jeopardy! family. And, it appeared as if she was bowing out gracefully.
Per a shocking report from The Sun and TMZ, the Big Bang Theory actress did not go down without a fight.
Mayim Bialik Goes Down Swinging Amid Termination
According to a shocking new report, deciding to step down as a host during the strike is ultimately what cost Mayim her joke as a host. In her decision to step down, Mayim Bialik showed the higher-ups that they didn’t need two hosts. So, they decided to terminate her and move forward with just a single host.
Now, the higher-ups at Sony have tried to clarify they were not upset at Mayim for her decision to join the strike. The situation, however, did “open their eyes” to the fact that they did not need two hosts. Understandably, some Jeopardy! fans are having a hard time looking past the fact that Mayim likely wouldn’t have been fired if she hadn’t gone on strike.
According to The Sun, Mayim Bialik did NOT have a green light from Sony to issue a statement about her termination. It appears as if she quickly issued a statement to get her side of the story out there first.
Likewise, it is also being reported that the higher-ups wanted to keep her on as a guest host for primetime specials For example, the higher-ups thought she was ideal for hosting Celebrity Jeopardy! because of how she interacted with the all-star contestants. Mayim Bialik, however, shut it down with an ultimatum. It was an all-or-nothing situation for her. She did not want to be a guest host.
Unfortunately, her “all-or-nothing” argument did not yield any results and she is officially walking away from the Jeopardy! franchise.

Fans Have Mixed Feelings
Fans of the game show are all over the place with their feelings on the situation. Many could not stand her as the host and are thrilled by this development. There, however, are just as many who feel she is being punished for going on strike. Furthermore, they question if Sony can ethically justify that termination.
