Bravo’s Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (RHOBH) star Teddi Mellencamp said she wanted to make a “long story short” as she kicked off her Instagram post with a summarized update on her skin cancer. Sadly, her immunotherapy therapy failed.

She explained: “I had a wide excision removal on my most recent melanoma last week to see if it did and sadly it did not.”

What Happens Next?

After her immunotherapy therapy failed, her medical team presented her with a few new treatment options. After some heavy consideration, she worked with her medical team to determine the best next treatment plan.

Collectively, it was decided that surgery was the best course of action. And, she was scheduled to go under the knife the day after Christmas. Doctors hope to cut out a large chunk of the problem area.

Teddi Mellencamp proceeded to get candid with her followers. She was terrified and didn’t like the idea of having surgery.

I don’t like going under and my anxiety is popping off but I have faith all will be ok and that the reason this is happening to me is because I am able to raise awareness.

She continued to share: “After surgery, when god willing my margins are clear, we will continue to monitor my body closely every 3 months. In the meantime, I am so looking forward to spending Christmas with my loved ones and hope this is a reminder to book your skin checks for the new year.”

The RHOBH star hoped that her story would encourage some to schedule regular check-ups with their doctors to catch skin cancer as early as possible.
