Mama June Gets Temporary Emergency Custody Of Kaitlyn
After Anna Cardwell tragically passed away on December 9, 2023, there’s been quite a bit of uncertainty of what will happen with her surviving daughters.
According to new reports, it seems that June Shannon, often referred to as “Mama June,” will take Anna’s eldest daughter Kaitlyn for the time being.

Mama June Shannon takes custody of Kaitlyn for now
Since Anna passed away, the family’s followers worried about the girls and where they would live. Now, it seems viewers have some answers.
“June was granted temporary emergency custody of Kaitlyn today,” one Redditor shared on the platform. “There’s a website called peachcourt.com where you can view all court cases filed in Georgia by searching parties’ names.”
“After Michael filed for custody, June filed a petition for ex parte emergency temporary custody and was granted it today,” the OP continued. “This doesn’t mean much besides that she has legal custody of Kaitlyn right now. There will be a hearing on this at some point and Michael will be heard. I am confident the court will side with him as far as custody goes.”
Many other Reddit users were shocked and appalled at the situation. Several didn’t think that June Shannon should have custody of Kaitlyn based on her past problems. After all, one of June Shannon’s previous boyfriends reportedly abused Anna Cardwell.

“This poor excuse of a mother would never change her ways,” one Reddit user wrote.
“This is a tough one. June is the next of kin, seemingly it was Anna’s wish for her to be with June, and Michael doesn’t have any real stance over Kaitlin except for time spent in the past,” another Reddit user added. “I think he absolutely has a case and should be in her life but not sure the courts will end up agreeing. My fingers are crossed for what’s best for Kaitlyn 🤞🏻”
Anna Cardwell’s ex wants Kaitlyn to live with him
This is certainly a major development in the case. TV Shows Ace previously reported that Anna’s ex-husband wanted Kaitlyn to live with him. He isn’t her biological father, but he did help raise Kaitlyn from a young age. He’s also the father of her youngest daughter, Kylee. Many fans assumed that he wanted to keep the sisters together as they mourn the loss of their mother.
