My 600-lb Life Angela Johns had a controversial journey with Dr. Now. She had difficulties following the bariatric surgeon’s weight loss regimes. The Ohio native appeared in Season 7 at 643 pounds. Just like the other patients of Dr. Now, Angela suffered from sexual abuse and became addicted to drugs. This led her to live an unhealthy lifestyle. My 600-lb Life: Angela John’s Weight Loss Journey
Angela was struggling with her daily life and often needed a walker. However, her story wasn’t as inspiring as the previous patients in Season 7. She failed to comply with Dr. Now’s weight loss programs. The My 600-lb Life alum was only able to drop 49 pounds before getting dismissed from the show in her eighth month. She didn’t qualify for bariatric surgery and ended her episode at 594 lbs.
Angela’s Complaints & Controversial Decision
Angela tried to come up with her own methods for losing weight after finding Dr. Now’s steps difficult. During her episode, the surgeon discovered that she was secretly using a certain type of drug to help her shed weight. According to Dr. Now, it could’ve made her condition worse. But the former My 600-lb Life star insisted on not following her regimes. Instead, she cursed at her diet plan by saying “B*******” during one of her interviews.
My 600-lb Life: Angela Trying To Sell What She Learned From Dr. Now?
Angela has kept in touch with the fans after her episode. But instead of inspiring other people, she’s been utilizing what she learned from Dr. Now to gain some profit. Many of her recent social media posts are promotions of the programs she knows will help obese people lose weight. However, many are not happy about what the My 600-lb Life alum did. In May, she was called out by her followers for selling the methods that she learned for free.
- “What I find odd is you trying to make a buck off people’s shame, embarrassment, and desperation. If people are reaching out to you it’s because they want to lose weight so badly they’d reach out to a stranger asking for help,” one person said.
- “Anyone can look up Dr. Now’s weight loss or just remember it by watching the program. It’s not difficult to understand losing weight requires you to be on a high lean protein, no carb diet,” another commenter added.
Despite the criticisms, Angela Johns revealed that her programs helped her shed more pounds after the show. According to her, she was able to drop 408 in 3 years. Some of her photos today also prove that she has lost a significant amount of weight since her episode.
