‘GMA’ Robin Roberts Takes Dig At MIA Co-Host Michael Strahan
While GMA fans continue to wonder where Michael Strahan is, Robin Roberts had some fun with a dig at her co-host during an interview. What did she have to say?
Michael Strahan was still MIA from his stint as a co-host on Good Morning America on Monday, Dec. 5. This latest disappearance started last Thursday, Nov. 30. However, fans are not as worried as last time since he did appear on NFL Sunday on FOX.
Did Michael Strahan Return to GMA?
So far, ABC has not said exactly why the 51-year-old former football player is missing from his co-hosting duties on Good Morning America. Many point out that he has missed Mondays in the past during football season. However, this time, he hasn’t been around since Thursday. During Monday’s show, Linsey Davis continued to stand in for him.
The disappearance was surprising considering one of the guests for the day. The 56-year-old retired NFL legend, Deion Sanders appeared via video chat. Known as Coach Prime, he made news the same day after he called off his engagement to fiancee Tracey Edmonds. The two had been together for 12 years. Sanders’s series Coach Prime drops its second season on Prime Video on Thursday, Dec. 7, and he appeared on Good Morning America to talk about that.
"I expect a lot more. Our fan base expects a lot more. The kids that play for us, they expect a lot more. And we're gonna give it." — @DeionSanders on how he instills "the Prime Effect" on his team and his expectations for @cubuffsfootball next season. #CoachPrime pic.twitter.com/sJw94ONNMD

The good news is that Strahan returned on Tuesday, Dec. 5. It certainly suggests that he was gone due to football duties more than anything else.
What Did Robin Roberts Say About Her GMA Co-Host?
At the start of the interview, Sanders told Robin that he was excited to see her. The Sun shares that he said “I love me some Robin Roberts! I just want the rest of you to know that.” Of course, Robin shared that she was also excited to speak to Sanders. She continued that with the dig at her MIA co-host, saying “I’m glad Michael’s not here, so I don’t gotta vie for your attention.”
This was just a fun dig at her co-host. However, fans have seen Strahan connect well with a lot of guests, especially when they come from a sporting background. The NFL is often like a big family. The dig has nothing to do with Roberts being missing from her hosting duties on the series on the day that Strahan returned. This happened last week, too, with Roberts sharing then that she was visiting family in her hometown. So far, Roberts has not posted on social media to explain her Tuesday absence, but she has tweeted. There are no signs that the co-hosts are not on friendly terms.
Sam, So glad we’ll be together for this tomorrow!#MississippiStrong https://t.co/2eAbgQSqKZ

Davis continued to stand in for missing co-hosts on Tuesday. The co-hosts take time off here and there, especially around this time of year, so there’s no need to be worried just yet.
