Will ‘Golden Bachelor’ Return For Season 2?
Season 1 of the Bachelor Nation franchise spinoff The Golden Bachelor is an undeniable hit. Will it return for Season 2? Keep reading to find out what we know so far about the future of the senior dating show.
Dramatic Golden Bachelor Season Finale
The Golden Bachelor has raked in millions of viewers since the season premiered in late September. Deadline reported at the time that the season premiere gave ABC its highest ratings for the franchise in three years.
There’s a good chance that the season finale airing on November 30th will blow those numbers out of the water. Viewers are highly anticipating the finale, especially since the show didn’t air last week due to the holiday, and fans are in withdrawal.
It all comes to a head (no pun) when Gerry Turner must make a choice between his final two contestants. Will he offer his final rose to Theresa Nist or Leslie Fhima? Not only is a rose in play, but chances are he will propose to one of the two women.
Even fans who have read the spoilers online plan to tune in to watch it all play out.
Will Golden Bachelor Return For Season 2?
The success of Golden Bachelor has made fans dream of Golden Bachelorette and Golden Bachelor In Paradise spinoffs. The network has yet to greenlight either, but ABC is slow to announce such things. They only renewed Season 28 of the Bachelor flagship show in May 2023, just a few months before filming began.
There have been short-lived spinoffs in the past, including Winter Games and Listen To Your Heart. Could Golden Bachelor be a one-and-done season, or will there be more?
ABC has yet to comment, but an insider spilled the tea. According to Life & Style, sources revealed that there will be a Season 2. The source said that The Golden Bachelor has given the franchise new life and put it “back on the map.”
Has A Lead Been Chosen?
Assuming Gerry Turner proposes to Nist or Fhima, he won’t return as the Season 2 lead. At this point, there is no indication of who will be the next senior looking for love on the reality TV series. Life & Style reminds readers that ABC doesn’t announce the names of the leads until they’ve officially confirmed the season.
However, BIP alum Sam Jeffries offered up a possible candidate on her social media earlier this week. Jeffries, along with other Bachelor Nation alum, attended a Cleveland Cavs game. She shared a photo of Cavs employee Rhett Wennes with the caption “Next Golden Bachelor?” above it.
