My 600-lb Life: Latonya Pottain’s Weight Loss Journey
Latonya had a big support system during her episode. She was bedridden and looked hopeless. However, the My 600-lb Life alum still made efforts to have an appointment with Dr. Now and get herself checked. She was initially told to drop a certain amount of weight in order to qualify for bariatric surgery.
But she struggled with letting go of unhealthy foods. Latonya didn’t like her exercise programs as well, which ultimately led to more weight gain. As a result, she never got to have the surgery. She was only able to lose 43 pounds after a year, dropping her to 599 lbs.
Did Latyona Lose Weight Behind Cameras?
Latyona revealed earlier this year that she’s still trying to pursue her physical goals. In February, the former My 600-lb Life star shared a clip of herself in a wheelchair, asking for prayers. Dr. Now’s patient also said she’s currently seeing a psychiatrist and that her weight loss journey is still ongoing. She also thanked all the people who sent her positive messages throughout her journey. She didn’t share how much weight she had lost after the show. Though it seems Latyona Pottain is more determined this time after failing in her episode.
My 600-lb Life: Latonya Pottain’s Big Project
Latonya had an interview in March where she announced her big project. According to the My 600-lb Life alum, she’s planning to open a shelter for girls in Shreveport. She named it Guiding Light Group Home, which will be a safe place for girls aged 13 to 17. The former reality TV personality also said that it will be open to those struggling with family problems, life threats, or having nowhere else to go. However, it’s been quite some time since she announced her project despite already processing some papers for it. Its fundraiser has only reached $25 with a goal of $20,000 since March. Therefore, it may take a while before fans can see actual progress.
Latonya Pottain also said in her interview that she’s back with her trainer and she’s been dropping weight. Furthermore, she’s planning to move with her family to prepare herself for surgery.
