Josie Bates Opens Up About New Baby’s Name

Bringing Up Bates star, Josie Bates Balka, finally opens up about baby #3’s name! She and her husband, Kelton, have opted out of finding out the gender of this baby. The couple have two daughters, Willow, 4, and Hazel, 2. Read on to find out more about what they have shared regarding their third blessing!

Postpartum Plans

In a recent Instagram story, Josie and Kelton shared that they plan to take a good bit of time off following baby 3’s birth. After Willow and Hazel’s births, their businesses weren’t in a place to take a significant amount of time off. However, this time around business is great. This will allow them to take a longer paternity/maternity leave, bond with their new baby, and help the girls adjust to a new family member.

Balka’s Big Move?

Not long after Willow, the Balka’s oldest daughter, was born, the couple purchased, renovated, and moved into their current home. They officially moved in when Willow was only 1 month old. Now, the couple is looking to move again.

Josie stated in an Instagram Q&A session that the family is “outgrowing” their current home. They have been looking for the right house for a few months now, “but are in no rush.” After their experience with moving so soon after Willow’s birth, the main thing is not moving too soon after this baby comes. Obviously, they don’t want to move too close to the end of Josie’s pregnancy either.

While they have outgrown their current home, Josie explains that the new baby will be sleeping in their room for quite a while. Due to this, they have more wiggle room to find the right house for their growing family.

Baby Balka #3

Baby Balka #3 is due to arrive sometime in March 2024. Josie is adamant that the pair are waiting until the baby’s birth to find out the gender. Some fans are skeptical and think that the couple changed their minds and already know the gender. Either way, the Balkas have not confirmed the gender in any capacity.

Eager fans want some kind of information about the new addition. In Josie’s most recent Q&A, a follower asked if the Balkas could/would share the name ideas that they have for their baby. Bates responded that they currently do not have a name picked out.

The oldest girls’ names are Willow Kristy and Hazel Sloane. Fans are throwing out ideas of what the next Balka’s name will be.

The vast majority believe that if the baby is a girl, Josie and Kelton will choose another nature-themed name such as Juniper, Ivy, Laurel, Violet, or even Olive. If baby Balka is a boy, fans of the pair are guessing: Rowan, Crew, or Asher. Some believe that the couple will ultimately go with a more gender-neutral name such as Aspen since they aren’t finding out the gender until birth.
