‘DWTS’ No Sympathy For Derek Hough As He Gets Majorly Dissed
Derek Hough defended his critiques against disgruntled Dancing with the Stars fans. The judge received criticism for giving a disputed score to Jason Mraz, a top contender in the season The U.S. Sun reported. Jason is a frontrunner in the fan vote on ABC’s reality show. However, winning over the professional dance judges has proven to be a separate hurdle for the Lucky singer. Jason and Koko performed “Take On Me” in the latest episode, but some viewers felt Judge Derek underrated the singer with an 8 out of 10 score. Fans booed Derek after giving Jason Mraz a low score. Derek even acknowledged the frustration in a TikTok post, sharing a video featuring a startled and confused-looking dog darting around a picture of his judging, set to the tune of “Popcorn.”

Nevertheless, some have rallied to Derek’s support, contending that the disruptive behavior of the studio audience hinders the judges in carrying out their responsibilities. It’s a familiar scenario on DWTS for the judges to face occasional booing from the audience throughout the season. Judges disagree or booed if the audience misunderstands their critique. Derek Hough praised Lele Pons for her Shakira-inspired dance performance with partner Brandon Armstrong. However, he noted the lifts needed to be executed correctly.
