Hannah Brown Details ‘Mental Breakdown’ Before Adam Woolard Proposed
Usually when a couple gets engaged, they share gleeful and happy posts on social media about it. Hannah Brown did share the happy news on her Instagram, but she also wants people to know that engagements can also bring “fear” and anxiety.”
Earlier this week, Hannah Brown was a guest on the LadyGang podcast hosted by Keltie Knight, Becca Tobin, and Jac Vanek. The Bachelorette alum admitted that the time surrounding the proposal “wasn’t the best of me” and referred to it as “hard.”
Hannah Brown has been open about her struggles with anxiety and other mental health issues. Knowing this, her then-boyfriend Adam Woolard gave her a heads up that he was going to propose soon and see if she was okay with taking that step, per Us Weekly.
She admitted on the podcast that she “had the full-on mental breakdown” after he clued her into the impending proposal. In fact, she texted her therapist, “URGENT. I NEED COUNSEL.”
Brown also revealed that despite the warning, Woolard was still able to keep the proposal a secret. He told her they were attending a party, but it was really an elaborate ruse to propose.
She told the podcast hosts that she was “in my own head” so far that she never suspected anything. Despite her anxiety attack, the proposal was “beautiful.”
Hannah Brown previously spoke about her anxiety before the proposal on her own podcast in September.
