Jana Duggar was raised under the rules of the Institute in Basic Life Principles (IBLP) founded by Jim Gothard. While the other Duggar kids from Counting On married young, Jana remains single. Did she see the vow of single service as a way out? Might she never marry and have kids? Read on to see what TLC fans think.

Counting On Jana Duggar Never Married

Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets opened many eyes when the Amazon docuseries aired this year. Actually, it made people aware that there’s a huge rabbit hole when it comes to Jim Gothard’s teachings. Additionally, from the Counting On and 19 Kids and Counting shows on TLC, people found out that girls drew the short straw in life. The boys work, and the girls make as many babies as they can to increase the clan.

Many 19 Kids and Counting and Counting  On fans arrived at the conclusion that Jana Duggar might be a lesbian. After all, the odds of that happening in a family the size of Jim Bob and Michelle’s is statistically possible. Past courting rumors came to nothing, like the one about Lawson Bates. He married someone else, and she’s rumored to live in a small home or trailer at her parents’ home.

Jana Duggar And A Vow Of Single Service

There’s a new rumor floating around that Michelle’s oldest daughter might live her dream and attend college. But that seems unlikely. Mind you, TLC fans hope that it might be true. Perhaps she will find a man there? While she helps with the younger kids at home and seems into gardening and interior design, is she content with that? Might she try and stay single for the rest of her life?

On Reddit, an OP shared a screenshot of a book that talked about the vows of single service by Bill Gothard. Actually, he encouraged girls not to do nothing until God sent the right mate their way. In fact, he suggested that they “make a vow of single service committing a specific number of years to serve God while single.” Did Jana Duggar do that? If she did, it could be that she chose to do that for a long time.

Not Too Late To Marry

While some members of the community think that Jim Bob Duggar’s daughter is old, actually, in life, 33 or 34 is considered fine for marriage. Assuming Jana Duggar did take the vow, the book said nothing about never marrying. Possibly, the girls cannot make a lifetime commitment to do single service. Perhaps she took a vow for twenty years or so.

One TLC fan opined, “…a vow of singleness would really help excuse her desire to live an independent life.” Then, someone else added to that thought, “In the hopes that one day Jana can take the vow of ‘leave me tf alone.”‘

Here is another comment, “Jana’s 33 (will be 34 in January). The crazy thing is, she could end up courting, engaged, married, and having a kid, all in the space of 18 months or so.”

Will The Counting On Alum Find A Mate?

The question is, how many men would be keen on marrying someone in their thirties? In their religion, it’s hardly likely there’s a single guy who didn’t marry young. Perhaps, she might end up with someone who lost a wife, and a ready-made brood of kids. Of course, she might avoid marriage altogether if she’s secretly a lesbian.

Whether Jana is secretly a lesbian or not, might never be known. Do you think that she might have escaped marriage and babies by taking Jim Gothard’s vow of single service? Was that the best way for her to escape her dad’s desire for more grandbabies? If she took the vow of single service, might her commitment period be running out?
