My 600-lb Life alum Shannon Lowery had an unfortunate journey in Season 9. She appeared in the show at 739 lbs. The Arizona native’s weight gain began when she was a child. Her father neglected her due to his busy work and never taught her proper discipline with food. Her dad also worked at a restaurant, where they frequently ate. My 600-lb Life: Shannon Lowery’s Weight Loss Journey
Shannon tried her best to follow Dr. Now’s diet plans and lost 80 lbs. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough for the 150 pounds that the surgeon wanted her to lose in order to proceed with the bariatric surgery. Nevertheless, she still made an impressive start to her weight loss journey. Her last reported weight was over 650 lbs. The My 600-lb Life alum also became more conscious of her health since appearing in the show. She has yet to get her surgery behind cameras due to financial problems. But she has made it clear that she’s presently working towards her physical goals and ultimately getting the operation.
Shannon Continues To Pursue Physical Goals
Shannon has kept in touch with the fans online regarding her weight loss journey. She even put up a YouTube channel where she shares her workout routines. In October, the former My 600-lb Life star impressed fans with the dedication she’s showing in her gym session. She has yet to share her current weight. But it’s clear that she’s still a long way from reaching her goals. Regardless, many have been supporting Dr. Now’s patience for her hard work. But it seems she had faced some obstacles that slowed down her journey.
My 600-lb Life: Shannon Lowery Continues To Struggle With Food Addiction Amid Sad Loss
Shannon took to social media recently to share that the 26th of November will be the 11th month since her mother passed away. “There is not a day I don’t think of you and miss you mom,” she said. The My 600-lb Life alum also revealed in October that she’s going back to the gym soon, but she’s still fighting her addiction to food. “I do really good during the day and then at night it goes to hell and basket. I’m frustrated and I’m tired of fighting with the insurance for medications that will help,” she added.
Despite the struggles, Shannon Lowery is still living with a good support system. Many are also cheering for her online and hope that she will soon overcome her problems with food.
