‘The View’ Whoopi Goldberg’s Own Series Discussed
There have been rumors swirling for a while that Whoopi Goldberg may soon be retiring from The View. Fans, however, aren’t entirely sure she will be retiring from the talk show because she’s ready to hang up her hat as a talk show host and an actress.
In fact, many fans point out that lately Whoopi Goldberg just appears to be bored during her time on the show. Some fans claim her facial expressions scream that she’s there out of obligation and not because she actually wants to be there.
Turns out, Joy Behar and a producer of The View named Brian Teta recently got to talking about Whoopi Goldberg and the potential of her having her own series. The topic of conversation came up on Joy’s podcast called, “Dating Dos and Don’ts – Unfiltered!”
The View Whoopi Goldberg’s Own Series Discussed
During their conversation on Joy Behar’s podcast, the duo discussed an old segment. A segment where they used to play matchmaker with the cast and crew. Joy and Brian tossed around the idea of bringing the segment back. They thought it would be a lot of fun. They, however, had a problem. Joy Behar really didn’t have anyone on the panel of The View she could set up on dates.
Technically, however, they realized there was one member of the panel that was single. They, however, were not really sure this was something she would go for.
Joy Behar calls attention to the fact that Whoopi Goldberg is single. Furthermore, she assumed people would love to watch Whoopi go on dates with potential suitors. While Brian Teta agreed Joy was onto something, he thought there was no chance Whoopi would be open to doing something like this.
Her Own Dating Show?
The two ended up agreeing that Whoopi Goldberg could pursue her very own television show if she was open to the idea. They suspected a whole show out of Whoopi getting set up on dates with people is something viewers at home would like.
As far as fans know, Whoopi Goldberg is very much single right now. In fact, the actress and talk show host as made it clear she isn’t super interested in dating. That, however, doesn’t mean that she wasn’t interested in dating in the past. In fact, Whoopi has a very long dating history per Ranker.
In total, the actress was married three different times to Alvin Martin, David Claessen, and Lyle Trachtenberg. She was in a long-term relationship with Michael Visbal for five years from 2001 to 2006. She also shared a lengthy relationship with Frank Langella from 1996 to 2001. Whoopi also reportedly had a short fling with Timothy Dalton back in 1991.
Given her current opinion on dating and her long history of various relationships, fans of The View aren’t too sure Whoopi would be open to her own dating TV series. The only exception may be if she was the host of the show and didn’t have to do any of the dating.
