Every week, On Patrol: Live welcomes special guests into the studio, and viewers either get super excited or they are indifferent. This week, Lt. Richie Maher of the Daytona Beach Police Department is coming by. For those unfamiliar with Lt. Maher, he became a sergeant in 2019. However, just four years later, he made his way up to Lieutenant. His accomplishments are quite incredible and noteworthy. Back in 2018, Lt. Richie was able to talk a suicidal woman down as she was located on a highrise. This was no simple feat but he took time and care which is why he is where he is today.

Fans on Facebook expressed their excitement finding out that he would be joining the show this weekend. “Lt. Maher is awesome ! Looking forward to the weekend,” one wrote. Another added: “Awesome!! Great to have him back in the Studio. Maybe we can see his brother at some point too.” Fun fact, his brother works with him in the police department, as well. So, it is clear that Lt. Maher is always welcomed with open arms to the show by fans who have called the show boring. They do not feel it has the same spark as Live PD but this should help some.
Bright Ideas
Due to On Patrol: Live lacking some excitement, the viewers have started to come up with ideas and new segments. One of them was a monthly special based solely on the DUI clips. Yet, the show also does an immense amount of good in finding missing persons. They have such a strong social media community that it helps beyond words.
