‘Bold And The Beautiful’: Liam Spencer’s Sounding Board Leaves

The Bold and the Beautiful’s Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) will soon lose his sounding board on the show. Who’s there for the newly single guy when he needs someone to talk to? His brother, Wyatt ( Darin Brooks)

Wyatt exits the canvas ‘for now’

Brooks writes in an Instagram post from Thursday that it’s goodbye “for now.” The actor arrived on the scene 10 years ago for the role of Wyatt Spencer. He was noticeably absent from the opening credits of The Bold and the Beautiful on CBS this week. A number of new still images of B&B stars flashed across the screen, but not Brooks.’

“Many of you have seen that I am no longer in the credits on [B&B]… After 10 amazing years, it’s time for me to say ‘Until we meet again,’” he explains, adding, “Doesn’t mean it’s the end, just… bye for now.”

The character’s change to recurring status two years ago on the soap was obvious as well. Less screen time for Wyatt evolved. So, this isn’t a total shock. Naturally, fans will miss him just knowing he’s officially out now.

Fortunately, The Bold and the Beautiful is leaving the door open for Brooks.

The Bold and the Beautiful moves to other stories

Who’s Liam going to lean on now? Maybe, Dad, Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) will be there more for him with Wyatt out of the picture. Their father-and-son time is as entertaining as the scenes with Wyatt. Alternatively, Liam’s storyline might be heading in another direction … one that keeps him too busy for venting to his brother.

What’s in store for Liam as B&B advances the plot of Finn (Tanner Novlan) and Steffy’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) strained marriage? He’s on a mission to get his baby mama back. The way things are going, it’s not an unreasonable assumption. The Bold and the Beautiful is toying with the idea by the looks of it. How far it goes with Steffy can go either way. The concept of Liam and Steffy getting back together isn’t the best one given the repetitiveness of that plot line.  Besides, Finn is a popular character and he’s a great match for the Forrester CEO.

Engaging scripts

The Bold and the Beautiful’s ever-changing scripts will keep viewers from pondering too much about what’s missing. The show does a good job of unceremoniously phasing out characters.

It’s possible Wyatt will return to the canvas down the road, but it’s unknown. Actors and actresses tend to return if they need the work or a special occasion calls for it.
