Former The Bachelorette star Trista Sutter is sharing a “heartwrenching” family reality with fans. She opened up about the tough time she is currently going through and revealed how her whole family is dealing with it. What’s going on with the Sutter family? The past several years have not been easy for the Sutter family. As we’ve reported in the past, Ryan Sutter was diagnosed with Lyme disease in 2021 and has been dealing with the intense symptoms since. Through their ups and downs, the family has shared very openly with their followers.
This fan-favorite Bachelor Nation couple can’t seem to catch a break as they’ve been hit with another “heartwrenching” reality.

On her Instagram Stories on Wednesday afternoon, Trista Sutter shared a sad life update with her followers. She revealed that it’s “been a rough couple days.” They’re currently packing up their house after living there for 20 years. The kids are facing challenges at school while also missing their friends and life in the mountains.
Then, she continued, “And most heart-wrenching and difficult… an unexpected surgery and diagnosis for our fur-baby, Sophie.”
Trista Sutter admitted that she’s been trying to hold it all together. She doesn’t want to put her sadness on her kids. Because she’s been holding back from crying and getting emotional, she fears that she doesn’t know how to “express the fear and let the tears roll.”
In her Instagram Stories post, the former reality TV star said, “I can’t imagine life without Sophie Bear. Just hoping I don’t have to for years and years to come.”

The former Bachelorette also mentioned that she might post lighthearted content about The Golden Bachelor to take her mind off all of the heavy things going on in her life. She asked her followers not to judge her.
So far, Trista hasn’t shared anything about this on her main Instagram feed, so fans can’t publicly comment. But she’s likely receiving lots of love in response to her sad update.
Ryan Sutter also shared about this challenging time.
As we reported, on his Instagram page, Ryan shared his own post about Sophie’s cancer diagnosis. He shared a very vulnerable photo of himself crying and a lengthy caption about his emotions.
