Whoopi Goldberg’s career has spanned decades and generations from comedy to cinema to the stage to The View. She has the prestigious honor of being in the EGOT club which means she has won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony. Therefore, her work is beloved by many, and for that, she is extremely well-respected. However, she also has no problem saying how she feels and speaking her mind. This is why she is perfect as a moderator for the daytime talk show. Yet, is she thinking about hanging up her cap and retiring? After all, she has a side project with her daughter and granddaughter to keep her busy, as well.

According to The Sun, fans have been questioning what Whoopi’s status is with the talk show. Is she ready to retire? She has been moderating for sixteen years now which is nearly two decades so it would not be a shock if she opted to exit in the very near future. Goldberg, 67, shared her status on Tuesday, October 17th: “I’ve done nothing but retire. I’ve been retired my whole career, so I kind of like that, yeah. I have a contract. As long as I’m doing the contract, nobody’s mad.”

It is important to note that the actress, who has been working on Sister Act 3, is always off from The View on Fridays. Therefore, she is free to fulfill her other passions. This is why she may consider herself retired as she still had this sense of freedom while still having a home base. Whoopi added: “But I’ve been off on Fridays for years now because when we did that normally, I’d go to work and do shows or do whatever because I could travel on a Friday.”

Laughter Is The Best Medicine

Recently, Whoopi Goldberg has opened up about how much she has been peeing but it is all in good fun. She mentioned that the more she laughs, the more she wets herself. However, she has been doing that a lot this year, more than she can count. In all fairness, she was a comedian for years so this is just payback for making people fall off of their chairs in laughter. As to whether or not Whoopi will exit her chair on The View permanently anytime soon is yet to be seen. If her schedule stays in a way that accommodates her, maybe she will stay until the end of the show’s run.
