‘DWTS’ Charity Lawson Dishes On Working With Artem Chigvintsev
How does Dancing With The Stars contestant Charity Lawson feel about working with pro dancer Artem Chigvintsev?
Many former contestants admitted that the pro dancers can be pretty intense. Season 29 competitor Kaitlyn Bristowe even went as far as to call pro Alan Bersten a “d-ck” before admitting that all the pros can have a bit of an attitude.
Artem was also Kaitlyn’s partner on the show, so she definitely had some words of warning for Charity Lawson ahead of the competition. But what does Charity have to say about her time with him?
Charity Lawson reveals her true thoughts about Artem Chigvintsev
In an episode of Off the Vine podcast, Kaitlyn Bristowe told Charity Lawson to “buckle up” when it came to the pro dancers. And after four weeks in the competition, Charity has formed opinions of her own.
The Bachelorette star spoke with Page Six about her experience in the ballroom so far.
“He’s strict in a great way, and that’s what I need,” Charity said about her dance partner Artem Chigvintsev. “If I was paired with anyone else I really don’t think I would be as successful. Because he sees my potential and he pushes me, and that’s what you need in order to grow.”
Former Bachelorettes Hannah Brown won Season 28 while Kaitlyn Bristowe won Season 29. Gabby Windey finished in second place last year. As a result, Page Six wondered if Charity felt any extra pressure to win the competition.
“It’s not! Like, I mean, the pressure is coming from everyone else,” the 27-year-old said. “You see Kaitlyn and Hannah win, and it’s like, ‘OK, Bachelorette’s have it in them!’ But it’s like, ‘I know I have it in myself.’”
Charity went on to say that her only goal in Dancing With The Stars is to work hard and do better each week. So far, she and Artem have performed fairly well in the competition. Artem caught COVID-19 in week two and sat out, but Charity still put her best foot forward with a substitute partner.
Do they have what it takes to bring home the Mirrorball Trophy?
The pair prepares for Disney 100 Night
Thankfully, it seems like Artem is in excellent shape following his recent battle with COVID-19. He and Charity managed to score a 32/40 for their Foxtrot during Motown Night. They weren’t quite able to make it to the top of the leaderboard, but they aren’t far behind the top couples.
Right now, the pair are hard at work on their routine for Disney 100 Night on Tuesday. This week, they will perform the Viennese Waltz to “Part of Your World” from The Little Mermaid.
Can they climb back to the top of the leaderboard? Don’t forget to share your thoughts in the comments. Tune into Dancing With The Stars on ABC this Tuesday at 8 PM Eastern time. Follow TV Shows Ace online for the latest reality TV news and updates.
