‘DWTS’ Fans Call Out Julianne Hough’s Awkward Mistake

As viewers know, Julianne now hosts the dance competition show alongside Alfonso Ribeiro (The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air). Fans are thrilled she’s a part of the action and have welcomed her back with open arms. However, they aren’t holding back after she made a mistake during Motown Week.
Julianne Hough makes an awkward mistake.
The Brady Bunch star Barry Williams wowed the judges and audience with his tango with Peta Murgatroyd. After showing off their moves, he and Peta chatted with Julianne about their performance and waited for the judges to share their scores. This is where Julianne slipped up.
Julianne Hough asked, “When you’re out there dancing, are you feeling something? Are you channeling something?”
Barry replied, “As a matter of fact, yes. Florence Henderson was on this show and she was a friend but a mentor as well and she is the one who encouraged me to do Dancing With the Stars so I’m feeling Florence here.”
Then, the DWTS host replied, “Well I’m sure she is just rooting for you.”
Florence acted alongside Barry on The Brady Bunch. As Barry mentioned, she was on DWTS several years back as well. However, she passed away in 2016.

While watching the dance competition show, fans took to X to discuss Julianne Hough’s blunder. Some were gentle with their responses, hoping to give Julianne a kind correction. One fan said, “Does Julianne not realize Florence passed away in 2016?”

Another viewer added, “Someone let Julianne Hough know Florence Henderson is dead.” Someone else chimed in, “Yeah, that was rough. You could see the surprise in Barry, but he handled it with such class.”
But others were a little harsher. One viewer said, “Florence Henderson died in 2016 dummy.”
Hopefully, Julianne understands her blunder now and will be more cautious to make sure she gets the facts straight moving forward. If not, viewers will be sure to correct her via social media.
